What are the difference between graffiti in the
past and now ?

At the past it was considered totally illegal, it was a form
to protest the government. Today, it became a form of art
used in decorations but still not considered legal unless
they have the approval of authorities to draw a certain
place. Outside Egypt there are some streets where the
graffiti artist can express themselves freely.

So where the graffiti artist can practice this art,
in workshop a studio or where else?

Here in Egypt, there isn’t a specific place, as if they prac-
ticed it in the street, It’s illegal. Sometimes it is used in the
decorations of walls inside or out.

What about the place where graffiti is practiced,
the organization, the smell, the sound?

Of course, the place is very chaotic, it’s not organized
at all, colors and tools are thrown every where. As for
the smell, it depends on the materials used in the draw-
ing. Sometimes you can smell the sprays. Concerning
the sound, there is not a particular sound, some prefer to
work in a silent place, other like to hear music, especially
hard music.
